This small town lies east of Agadir, along the particularly fertile Souss Valley. It is nestled amidst mountains on three sides: the High Atlas to the north and the Anti-Atlas to the east and south. The Atlantic Ocean lies to the west. Since the 11th century, this city has been renowned for its tumultuous history, marked by uprisings against the various dynasties that have ruled Morocco.
